About The Project
An existing single-family dwelling in the Mar Vista neighborhood of Los Angeles gets a major facelift to add a master suite, and improve upon the small and outdated common spaces.
The entire roofline is to be reframed to accommodate a more modern appeal and large skylights to wash the interior with indirect northern light.
Exposed heavy timber framing, French white-oak flooring throughout accented with wood windows and a sandblasted white brick cladding system will provide warm tones in every corner of the 1,900 SF house.
A detached garage at the rear with alley access is to be converted into a 330 SF Accessory Dwelling Unit (ADU) with a flexible space to double as an office.
The project is currently in design with construction estimated to begin in early 2020.
